Ariadni Kathariou Earns Spot on BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Senior earns her first BIG EAST honor of the season
QUEENS, N.Y. (Nov. 8, 2021) – After notching 15 kills on a .600 hitting percentage against Marquette, Ariadni Kathariou has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor roll, it was announced on Monday.
The Johnnie's middle blocker was a leading force both offensively and defensively in the Red Storm's weekend matches. In the match with Marquette, Kathariou contributed 15 kills on a stellar .600 clip to go along with three service aces, two block assists and a solo block. She became the first Red Storm athlete to hit better than .550 since Hanna Wagner against Stony Brook on Sept. 17, 2017.
A day prior, Kathariou produced 13 kills on a .417 clip as well as two solo blocks, five block assists, and a service ace.
The Thessaloniki, Greece, native is currently ranked first in the BIG EAST with 132 total blocks, good enough for third in the nation. She is also no. 25 in the nation with 1.32 rejections per set.
St. John's will play its last two home games of the season this weekend, starting with a 3 p.m. match against Connecticut inside Carnesecca Arena.
