Giorgia Walther Name to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Walther earns her second selection of the season
QUEENS, N.Y. (Oct. 10, 2022) – For the second time this season, Giorgia Walther has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the conference office announced this afternoon.
In a 1-1 weekend for the Red Storm, Walther notched 28 kills and 16 digs. In Saturday's match against DePaul, she recorded her second double-double of the season with 17 kills and 13 digs. Walther led the BIG EAST with 4.67 kills per ser and was second scoring 5.00 points per frame over the weekend.
Walther ranks in the top three of BIG EAST in two separate statistical categories, sitting second in kills per set (3.72) and third in points per set (4.10).
Going into the weekend, Walther ranked 23rd nationally notching 251 kills and was 26th scoring 279.5 points per season. After the weekend, Walther totals 279 kills, 309.5 points, 82 digs, and 32.0 blocks. The NCAA leaderboard has not been updated through matches over the weekend.
The Johnnies conclude their three-match homestand Wednesday night at 6 p.m., hosting Seton Hall in Carnesecca Arena.
