Goalkeeper made six saves in Wednesday win over DePaul
QUEENS, N.Y. – For the second time this season, goalkeeper Zenden Hart has been named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, it was announced on Monday afternoon by the league office. Additionally, graduate student Einar Lye earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the first time this fall.
Â
In Wednesday night's win over DePaul, Hart was a late addition to the starting lineup after teammate Ryan Foley suffered an injury in warmups. Despite the short notice, Hart proved exceptional for the Johnnies, making a season-high six saves in the Red Storm's 2-1 victory over the Blue Demons. The only blemish on Hart's resume came on an own-goal early in the second half.
Â
On the season, Hart's record now stands at 3-3-0. The former Australian youth international boasts a 0.77 goals against average to go along with an .808 save percentage, both of which rank in the top three of the BIG EAST.
Â
Lye, a two-time All-BIG EAST selection, continued his stretch of stellar play against the Blue Demons on Wednesday night, finding the back of the net for the second straight game and the third time in his last five appearances. Lye missed the entirety of pre-conference play while battling back from an offseason injury.
Â
His 29th minute marker came off an assist from Nigel Griffith.
Â
The Red Storm will return to action on Wednesday night when it travels to Providence for a 7 p.m. meeting the Friars. The match will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network, available on FloFC. Â
