Walther and Lodi Named to Final BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll of 2022

Walther earns her third nod of the season, while Lodi earns first selection
QUEENS, N.Y. (NOV. 21, 2022) – In the final edition of the BIG EAST weekly awards, sophomore Giorgia Walther and freshman Lucrezia Lodi were selected to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after a 2-0 week for the Red Storm.
Walther was named to her third weekly honor roll after a well-rounded weekend ranking in the top 10 in three categories this weekend. The Cannobio, Italy native topped the league in aces per set (1.00), was fourth in points per frame (5.08) and ranked sixth with 3.83 kills per stanza. On Friday night against Villanova the sophomore tallied a match-high four service aces and recorded 11 kills. Walther added 12 kills and two aces in the Red Storm's second sweep of the weekend against Georgetown on Sunday.
Lodi earned her first selection to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. The San Lazzaro di Savena, Italy native ranked first among conference freshman in points and kills this weekend. Lodi notched her eighth double-double of the season against the Hoyas on Sunday tying for the team high with 15 kills and adding 11 digs. Among the entire conference, Lodi ranked fifth in both points (5.00) and kills (4.33) this weekend.
The duo along with the rest of their fourth-seeded Red Storm squad will face Connecticut in the first round of the BIG EAST Championships on Wednesday at 2 p.m. E.T.
