Three Johnnies Earn BIG EAST Honors

Rastelli, Walther and Lodi earned season recognition from the BIG EAST
Rastelli earned her fourth unanimous selection to the All-BIG EAST team during her career with the Red Storm. The Parma, Italy native finished the regular season third in both kills (3.74) and points (4.32) in the conference. The graduate student earned three BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll selections and was named Defensive Player of the Week during the season. Rastelli tallied 426 kills, 15 aces, 95.0 blocks, 492.0 points while hitting .257 on the season. Over the course of the season, Rastelli has climbed into second in program history in kills (1,841) and total attacks (4,421), third in blocks (402.0), and fifth in service aces (123).
After being named to the All-Rookie team in the previous season, Walther earned her first unanimous selection to the All-BIG EAST Team. The Cannobio, Italy native recently was tabbed to the weekly honor roll for the final time of the regular season. Walther's sophomore breakout season concluded with her ranked fourth in both points (4.18) and kills (3.71). She earned three selections to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll and one selection as the Offensive Player of the Week over the course of the season. Walther's concluded the regular season with 427 kills, 27 aces, 50.0 blocks and 481.0 points.
Lodi was the final Johnnie earning BIG EAST honors as she was named to the All-Freshman Team. The freshman is coming off her eighth double-double of the season against Georgetown and was subsequently named to the last BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. Lodi won Freshman of the Week honors on November 7th. The San Lazzaro di Savena, Italy native, totaled 297 kills, 263 digs, 25 aces and 343.5 points on the season.
The Red Storm are the fourth seed in the BIG EAST Championships in Omaha, Neb. starting on Wednesday. St. John's will face Connecticut in the first quarterfinal at 2 p.m. E.T. The winner will advance to face top-seeded Marquette on Friday night.
