Lucrezia Lodi Named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week

Lodi earns her first conference honor of the season
QUEENS, N.Y. (Nov. 7, 2022) – Freshman Lucrezia Lodi was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for the first time this season.
During a 1-1 week for the Red Storm, Lodi led all BIG EAST freshman in points per set (), kills per frame and digs per stanza. The San Lazzardo di Savena, Italy native ranked in the top ten in all three categories among all BIG EAST individuals. She ranked third in kills, fifth in points and seventh in digs.
The freshman tied her career high 17 kills in both matches this week. Against Seton Hall, Lodi added a new season-high 20 digs en route to her seventh double-double of the season. In the Johnnies sweep of Butler two nights later, Lodi once again recorded 17 kills and added six digs while hitting at a .500 clip.
On the season, Lodi has totaled 269 kills, 236 digs and 25 service aces. She has also added 31 blocks and 310 points. This is her first conference honor and the second Johnnie to receive Freshman of the Week honors. Magda Stambrowska received the honor the first week of the season.
The Red Storm hits the road for two road matches at the end of the week opening with No. 15 Creighton on Friday night.
