“An Evening with St. John’s Basketball” Online Auction is Now Live

Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Bernard King headlines men’s basketball fundraising event Thursday at The Plaza
QUEENS, N.Y. – The online auction for "An Evening with St. John's Basketball" is live now through Thursday, December 8 at 9:10 p.m. This year's items include exclusive St. John's memorabilia and experiences, golf with Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Charles Barkley, tickets to Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour at MetLife Stadium, and much more.
The men's basketball program's premier annual fundraising event will be held on Thursday at The Plaza Hotel on Fifth Avenue and Central Park South. New York City basketball icon Bernard King will highlight the 2022 edition of "An Evening with St. John's Basketball" as the special guest, while Head Coach Mike Anderson and Red Storm players will be in attendance.
A Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer, King was born and raised in Brooklyn before traveling to play his college basketball at the University of Tennessee, where he averaged 25.8 points in his three years with the Vols. He earned All-America honors following each of his three seasons, including Consensus All-American status in 1977, and earned SEC Player of the Year accolades three times in as many opportunities.
The seventh overall selection in the 1977 NBA Draft, King starred in the NBA for 14 seasons. A four-time All-Star, King was twice named to the All-NBA First Team. After stints with the Nets, Jazz and Warriors to start his career, King captivated his hometown during a sensational tenure with the New York Knicks.
At Thursday's event, the St. John's Office of Athletic Development will formally present Pat and Liz Muchow with its inaugural Supporters of the Year award, which honors supporters for their passion and dedication to both St. John's University and the men's basketball program.
