QUEENS, N.Y. – Anthony Herbert, a two-year standout with the St. John's men's soccer program, has signed his first professional contract with FC Haka of Finland's top division.Â

Herbert wrapped his collegiate career this past fall, helping the Red Storm secure its 22nd NCAA Tournament berth in program history. The Brooklyn product played in 10 matches and made six starts for the Johnnies, who went 11-6-3 with a 5-3-2 record in conference action. Herbert scored one goal, a go-ahead marker in the Red Storm's season-opener against eventual national champion Clemson.
Â
Herbert's first campaign with the Red Storm came during the spring of 2021. He played in nine of the team's 10 matches, appearing in the starting XI on five occasions. Herbert was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on March 8 after assisting on both of the Red Storm's goals in a 2-0 home win over Connecticut.
Â
Herbert came to St. John's after two seasons at Fairleigh Dickinson, where he earned a pair of Second Team All-NEC selections. As a sophomore, he received a nod to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Third Team after leading the Knights to an NEC title.Â
Â
Herbert boasts significant experience on the international circuit, playing for Trinidad and Tobago at the U15, U17 and U20 levels. He also suited up for the Red Bulls Academy U17/U18 prior to enrolling at FDU.
