St. John’s fundraising initiative coincides with feast of St. Vincent de Paul
QUEENS, N.Y. – Tomorrow is SJYOUGive, the annual university giving day where alumni students, faculty, staff and friends are encouraged to give back to St. John's University.
This year, the University has begun a new tradition of hosting SJYOUGive during the feast day of St. Vincent de Paul. In celebration of its Founding Father, the University will hold its inaugural University Giving Day dedicated to the theme of "healing… of mind, body and spirit," the foundation of the Vincentian mission.
In unity with this theme, St. John's Athletics will be raising dollars for our Life Skills fund that provides the resources necessary to promote mental, physical, and spiritual wellness.
This fund plays a vital role as the demands of competing at the Division I level for our Red Storm student-athletes are enormous. They often balance daily practices, competitions, traveling, a full academic course load, strength and conditioning programs, and sports medicine/rehab appointments in a single week, leaving little time for them to focus on their mental, physical, and spiritual health. Your support will ensure that all their needs in the areas of "healing … of mind, body and spirit" are met.
This year, we have set a 340-donor goal to support all 340 current student-athletes. We invite you to make a difference this feast day of St. Vincent de Paul. While gifts of any size make an impact, a donation of $100 will automatically enroll you into the Red White Club, which comes with several benefits. You can make your gift early by visiting our Athletics Life Skills Support Campaign by clicking here.
