NEW YORK – St. John's University formally introduced the 22nd head coach in its men's basketball program's long and storied history on Tuesday afternoon, welcoming Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Rick Pitino during a press conference at Madison Square Garden.
Pitino's career spans across six decades and he is the first head coach in Division I history to lead two different programs to an NCAA Championship, winning with Kentucky in 1996 and Louisville in 2013.
