Bartlett joins the newest MLS club and former Johnnie Tim Parker
QUEENS, N.Y. (March 8, 2023) – Former Red Storm standout Lucas Bartlett signed with Major League Soccer's newest club, St. Louis City SC, as announced by the club on Wednesday.
After becoming the highest MLS SuperDraft pick in St. John's men's soccer history with the sixth-overall pick by FC Dallas, Bartlett spent the majority of his time with North Texas SC at the MLS NEXT Pro level while logging two appearances with the MLS club during the U.S. Open Cup.
The Overland Park, Kan., native also joins former Johnnie Tim Parker, who tallied St. Louis City's first goal in club history on Feb. 25.
Bartlett left a sizeable mark on the Red Storm program despite suiting up for just one season in Queens. He started all 20 matches for the Johnnies this past year, playing 1,849 out of a possible 1,896 minutes.
Despite playing on the back line, the 2021 All-BIG EAST First Team selection tied for the team lead in goals, finding the back of the net five teams and dishing out three assists to finish second on the squad with 13 points. Three of his five goals were game-winners. In addition to his efforts on the offensive end of the pitch, he anchored a Red Storm defensive unit that led the nation in shutout percentage (0.60) and finished fifth in team goals against average (0.63).
Bartlett also picked up a United Soccer Coaches All-Region Second Team selection following the 2021 campaign.
