St. John’s Men’s Basketball Hosts 11th Annual Lou Carnesecca Golf Classic

The Red Storm raised $300,000 to support the program on and off the court
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's men's basketball program hosted the 11th annual Lou Carnesecca Golf Classic on Monday, raising more than $300,000 to support the Red Storm both on and off the court.
The annual golf outing was held on Long Island with more than 75 golfers and several esteemed dinner guests at the day-long event. Following 18 holes of play, all attendees congregated for a cocktail hour and the evening's formal program.
Attendees were welcomed by the evening's emcee, FOX Sports and St. John's Basketball analyst Vin Parise before inviting Rev. Brian J. Shanley, O.P., the 18th President of St. John's University, to offer remarks. A dedicated advocate for Red Storm Athletics, Shanley provided an update on the new basketball facility while thanking patrons for their generosity as the program aims to compete at the top of the BIG EAST and on the national level.
Red Storm student-athletes Brady Dunlap, Zuby Ejiofor and Simeon Wilcher were also in attendance for the evening portion to greet St. John's supporters.
The evening concluded with special recognition to Rino Grzinic '77SVC, Director of Development in The Lesley H. and William L. Collins College of Professional Studies, who is retiring on June 30. The 22-year veteran has been instrumental to St. John's success through many roles during his tenure.
