QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's women's basketball program will host an exhibition game against Division II opponent Pace on Monday, Oct. 21.
The Red Storm and Setters will tip-off from Carnesecca Arena at 7 p.m. Admission to the exhibition contest will be free for all fans.
The open exhibition for the Johnnies will mark the first since Nov. 3, 2021 when the Red Storm routed Adelphi, 93-58 at Carnesecca Arena. Five Johnnies finished in double-figures in that contest.
Pace is coming off an 18-12 campaign in 2023-24 and are led by Carrie Seymour, who served as a graduate assistant for the St. John's women's basketball program from 1991-93.
St. John's regular season opener is slated for Nov. 4 when it hosts Saint Peter's. In honor of the program's 50th anniversary, season tickets are available now for $50. To purchase click here or call 1-800-GO-STORM to reserve your seat today.
Head Coach Joe Tartamella is entering his 13th season at the helm of the Red Storm. The program's all-time winningest coach and 2023 BIG EAST Coach of the Year led the Johnnies to a second-straight postseason appearance and a third-place finish in the BIG EAST last season. Tartamella is set to return eight players from last year's team, including point guard Ber'Nyah Mayo, who ranked top-10 in the league in assists per game. Additionally, the Red Storm welcome a talented crop of six newcomers comprised of four experience transfers and two highly-touted freshman.
