Successful financial firm to engage with numerous parts of the St. John’s community
QUEENS, N.Y. – St. John's Athletics announces a new partnership with Matriarch Wealth Management for the 2025-26 athletics year on Thursday. The collaboration will span multiple touchpoints across the department, including prominent integration at men's basketball games, Red White Club events, a wealth management seminar at Madison Square Garden and digital content focused on the firm's specialized tax planning strategies.
"We're very excited to welcome Matriarch Wealth Management as a partner of St. John's Athletics," said Kevin Waters, General Manager of St. John's Sports Properties. "Their proven success as a trusted financial planning organization aligns very well with the evolving financial landscape at St. John's and in college athletics overall."
Based in Miami, Fla., with a strong presence in New York, Matriarch Wealth Management is an SEC-Registered Investment Advisor (RIA). The firm operates as a fiduciary, committed to collaboration, transparency, and trust—core principles that have defined its work with individuals, families, and institutions.
"Matriarch was built on the idea that true success is measured by the impact we create for future generations," said Stephen Santangelo, Founder and President of Matriarch Wealth Management. "Supporting St. John's Athletics is a natural extension of that philosophy. We share their commitment to tradition, perseverance, and building a legacy of excellence. We look forward to an exciting season and to standing alongside the Red Storm family."
"Matriarch Wealth Management has already proven to be a great partner on campus, and I look forward to seeing them become a trusted resource for the larger St. John's community as well," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Ed Kull, as he praised the partnership's early impact.
Central to Matriarch's identity is its philanthropic mission. The firm works closely with Nonna's Garden, a charitable organization named in honor of Santangelo's grandmother. Since 2006, Nonna's Garden has committed over $100 million to cancer research.
"Matriarch has been a trusted partner for my family since day one. I couldn't be more excited to see them step up to support St. John's basketball," said St. John's alumnus and entrepreneur Mike Repole. "It's a perfect example of giving back while building for the future."
