QUEENS, N.Y. – Ahead of the highly-anticipated St. John's men's and women's basketball seasons, the Red Storm Athletic Department announced a partnership with ShortTok, a video storytelling AI startup based in New York City.
St. John's will become the first sports team to utilize ShortTok's novel technologies to bring all the key moments from St. John's games, press conferences and more to life. ShortTok will enable St. John's media teams to quickly surface action sequences and highlights, insights from student-athletes and coaches, and rich video stories in near-real time."We're thrilled to announce this new partnership with ShortTok as it will provide us with a new cutting-edge technology to bring more content directly to our fans," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Ed Kull. ShortTok's groundbreaking technology allows the athletic department to do just that while elevating the brand of our basketball programs and our entire University. We're proud to be on the forefront of this innovative space."

Last year, ShortTok entered the college basketball landscape by partnering with the BIG EAST Conference.
"We're very pleased that St. John's will be availing itself of this exciting new technology to bring visibility to its basketball programs and better serve its fans," said BIG EAST Commissioner Val Ackerman. "We're deeply grateful to Larry Jones and Vikram Nagrani for their efforts in bringing this unique arrangement to fruition."
Larry Jones, an advisor to ShortTok and former Executive Vice President of Business at Fox Sports stated "Storytelling is the heartbeat of sports. I am so glad St. John's and Athletic Director Ed Kull are making sure its men's and women's basketball teams have the latest tools to expand their position as a leading national basketball powerhouse. Based on my long history with the BIG EAST and the conference's constant desire to innovate, connecting ShortTok with St. John's is a perfect match."
