Jamora Alves Competes in Shot Put at NCAA East Regional

Alves produced a toss of 14.90 meters for 36th overall
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jamora Alves finished up her first event of this week's NCAA East Regional, competing in the shot put on Friday morning at UNF's Visit Jax Track at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla.
Alves threw in the first of four flights in the shot put semifinal at the NCAA East Regional. The junior produced a toss of 14.90 meters in her first attempt of the day, placing 36th overall and fifth in her flight. The event marked the first NCAA shot put appearance of the Grenada native career.
Alves will return to the field tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. to compete against the best in the nation in the discus. Chinenye Onuorah and Nora Haugen will be back on the track tomorrow when they participate in the 400-meter dash and 800-meter run quarterfinals. Onuorah and Haugen will race at 6:50 p.m. and 7:05 p.m., respectively.
