St. John’s Cheer Medals at UCA Nationals

The Red Storm collected two bronze medals in Small Coed Game Day Routines
QUEENS, N.Y. (Jan. 19, 2026) – The St. John's cheer team, presented by NOBULL, completed a full slate of competition at the 2026 UCA National Championships with a pair of bronze medal finishes on Sunday evening at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
The Red Storm placed third in the University World Cup Championship Small Coed Game Day division, finishing behind national champion Hofstra and Liberty. The Johnnies
posted a score of 87.33 points. It marked the second time St. John's has competed in the event, following a first-place finish last season.
The team found itself on the podium again in the Small Coed Division I Game Day division, earning a score of 87.33 points. After taking sixth place last year, the Red Storm moved up to third place during the 2026 edition of the event.
St. John's picked up its third top-10 performance of the weekend in the University World Cup Championship All-Girl Team division, posting a score of 73.8 points.
Rounding out its weekend, the cheer team turned in a 17th-place showing in a competitive field in the Division I All-Girl Cheer division.

The team is back in action tomorrow when the St. John's men's basketball team takes on Seton Hall at Madison Square Garden, with tipoff set for 7 p.m.
