Ana Serafinko was named pitcher of the week honor while Cassidy Stouffer collects first career weekly recognition
NEW YORK — After leading St. John's to the best start in program history, a pair of softball standouts were named to the BIG EAST's Weekly Honor Roll. Ana Serafinko was named the BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week, while Cassidy Stouffer earned a spot on the conference's Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced on Monday.
The 9-1 opening marks the best 10-game start in program history, surpassing the 1998 squad that began its season 7-3.
Serafinko garners her fifth career BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week honor and first of her senior campaign. All four of her previous awards came during the 2025 season, with her last selection coming on April 28, 2025. The Chino Hills, Calif., native was also named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Feb. 9 earlier this season.
Over four appearances at The Spring Games, Serafinko went 3-0 with a 0.34 ERA across 20.2 innings of work. She allowed just one earned run on 11 hits while striking out 34 batters and holding opponents to a .157 batting average. The senior also recorded one save during the weekend, helping anchor a pitching staff that limited opponents to seven earned runs over five contests while posting two shutouts.
Stouffer earns the first BIG EAST Honor Roll selection of her career following a standout weekend at the plate. The senior batted .556, going 5-for-9 with three runs scored, a home run and three RBIs. She posted an .889 slugging percentage and a .615 on-base percentage while committing no errors in the field.
Serafinko, Stouffer and the Red Storm will next travel back to the Sunshine State for the Stetson Invitational in DeLand, Fla., from Feb. 20-22. There, the Johnnies will face host Stetson twice and local foe Columbia three times.
