Donnie Freeman Undergoes Successful Achilles Surgery

Rising junior forward suffered injury during Tuesday workout
QUEENS, N.Y. – Rising junior forward Donnie Freeman underwent successful surgery on his right Achilles tendon after suffering a non-contact injury in a workout on Tuesday.
"Donnie is an awesome young man," said Head Coach Rick Pitino. "We will get him back better than ever!"
Freeman, a versatile 6-foot-9 forward, came to Queens following two seasons at Syracuse. Freeman averaged 15.3 points and 7.5 rebounds over 37 appearances with the Orange.
Freeman was a McDonald's All-American out of IMG Academy and was ranked sixth nationally in the class of 2024 by ESPN.
