Luca Fargnoli Tabbed to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Fargnoli tallied the equalizer in the win over Villanova on Friday night
NEW YORK– St. John's men's soccer forward Luca Fargnoli was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
Fargnoli tallied the equalizer in the comeback victory over Villanova in the BIG EAST opener on Friday night, 2-1.
In the 51st minute, Camron Boumsong provided the service on the corner kick into the box. Ivar Na Aga headed the cross toward the back post to the waiting Fargnoli, who tucked the header into the back of the net.
The goal marked Fargnoli's third of the season as the North Bellmore, N.Y., native leads the team in goals (3), points (6) and ranks third in total shot attempts (11). The junior has played in all seven matches and made four starts this season.
The honor marks the first of his career for the third year Johnnie. Na Aga was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week and Brage Birkelund Eie was tabbed to the weekly honor roll on Aug. 24.
Fargnoli and the Red Storm will return to action tomorrow night to face No. 23 UNC Wilmington at 7 p.m. on FloSports.
