In the Fall of 2005, St. John's University completed the construction of Taffner Field House -- a $16 million, 43,000 square-foot facility that now serves as the practice courts of St. John's men's and women's basketball. Â In the fall of 2015, the facility received a facelift, as the office area, weight room and locker rooms were renovated to better reflect the history and brand of St. John's Basketball.

The field house features state-of-the-art amenities dedicated to the Red Storm basketball programs. Modern features include:
- Four full size basketball courts -- two for Student Life, two for Varsity Basketball.
- Offices and meeting rooms for men's and women's basketball.
- Audio/visual rooms and a press conference area for the varsity basketball teams.
- Dedicated locker rooms for men's and women's basketball.
- Team areas and meeting rooms for Red Storm players and coaches.
- Exclusive weight training and medical training rooms for men's and women's basketball.
