Mike Stainkamp begins his first year at St. John's in 2016-17, serving as the primary contact for the Red Storm's women's soccer and women's basketball programs.
Stainkamp came to Queens following nearly three years at LIU Post, where he served as the Assistant Athletic Media Relations Director responsible for men's and women's soccer, women's golf, cross country, women's basketball, wrestling, women's fencing, indoor and outdoor track and field, and baseball. In those years, Stainkamp traveled to numerous NCAA Tournaments with the Pioneers, as the men's soccer won back-to-back East Region titles in 2014 and 2015 and the women's basketball team advanced to the "Sweet 16" in 2013-14.
A native of Massapequa Park, N.Y., Stainkamp graduated from St. John's in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in Journalism. In 2013, Stainkamp received his master degree in Journalism from Hofstra University.
Stainkamp currently lives in Howard Beach, N.Y. with his wife, Stephanie.
