Pep Band
This must be a dream…you’re sitting courtside at Madison Square Garden surrounded by your closest friends. The Johnnies have just won and you are playing the opening notes to New York, New York as the crowd goes wild around you. Wait…it's not a dream, you’re part of the St. John’s University Pep Band!From the soccer field to courtside at Madison Square Garden, the St John’s University Pep Band is an integral part of the St John’s game day experience. The band plays for a variety of sports like soccer, volleyball, basketball and other events around campus. Members of the band get the opportunity to play at a blend of games on campus, at Madison Square Garden and frequently travel to Connecticut for the Women’s Basketball BIG EAST Tournament and to a variety of locations for the NCAA tournaments. The pep band is open to students with a passion for music and sports. While we don't have a formal audition for instrumentalists we do expect all students to be proficient in their instruments. Most incoming students were part of their high school marching, concert or jazz band. Our drum section has limited spots available and will require an audition to join, all drummers are expected to play kit. Think you have what it takes?
