Opening statement…
“Both teams fought hard. I thought that Georgetown just fought a little bit harder than us. They wanted to win a game I think a little bit more, so I am disappointed. I thought we fought back and had an opportunity at the end of the game with the ball in our hands and didn’t get the best shot that we were looking for. I thought that our execution towards the end which we had worked on didn’t come through today and we have done a better job in those situations in other games. We failed on the glass which has been a problem for us. We out-rebounded them last time and we didn’t today. We had made 18 points from the free throw line and didn’t today, so that was going to make it difficult.”
On the rebounding advantage for Georgetown…
“We didn’t get the ball, it is very simple. We didn’t have enough awareness and weren’t quick enough to the ball. We were slower than them to the ball. The amount of times we watched one player get it between three, which obviously in a game like this every possession is more critical, it was tough to watch. I told our team that Georgetown has played really well since they played us, they just haven’t won. So, today they were able to close it.”
On what he said to the team after the game…
“As I told our team, it is about their attitude and how they come to practice tomorrow. We have a short turnaround here and have been in this position a number of times this year where we have lost some tough ones, and we have to pick ourselves up and get ready for Saturday. It is about how we come to practice tomorrow, and I think our practice habits have always related to how we play in games, so it is about getting up, getting rest, and getting ready for the next one.”
