Opening statement…
“I thought we had a lot of opportunities to get ourselves back in the game, but we never got our footing for whatever reason. In both games, Seton Hall has done a good job of disrupting us. I felt okay going into the second quarter until we gave up a 6-0 run. [Lauren] Park-Lane obviously did a great job, and we had a problem stopping her all night. I thought we did a great job in the second half, but if we’re not going to get to 50-50 balls and rebound the ball, it becomes difficult to win games, especially against teams that are active. This one is going to hurt, but we have to get ready for the next one.”
On the end of the game…
“We cut it to five, and we get three looks at the rim. You have to make shots. I was frustrated because of how we looked. They deserved to win the game because they played tougher than us, but I thought we did a great job of clawing back. I thought, when we cut it down to five, we were in a manageable situation. We have to build, and it’s about how we respond.”
On defending Lauren Park-Lane…
“A lot of the things we gave up [to her] were due to poor communication play us. She made a few plays that were good individual plays, and we tried to block shots that we couldn’t block. She did a good job, and we did a poor job of communicating through the misdirections they were running for her, and they made us pay. I thought we did a better job of being focused in the second half, and that’s why she only had six points.”
