Opening Statement…
“In this particular game, it was a game of runs. We got off to a pretty good start, but Georgetown, like they have all year, fought, and got back in it. I thought we had a lot of composure when adversity took place. We started attacking the basket and making free throws. Our defense stood up. I thought all our guys contributed in a big way. The pressure defense was a big difference in this game. It sped them up and got us some easy opportunities.”
On the offense in the second half…
“I thought it was big for us. We had a pretty good lead in the first half, and Georgetown made a good run. I thought we were connected defensively. I thought it took our energy up a level. We made a concentrated effort of getting Joel [Soriano] the ball. We got some nice and easy looks from that. At the end of the day, you have to make those plays going down the stretch.”
On the pressure defense…
“I thought we made other guys handle the ball that aren’t used to handling the ball. There were times we came and trapped times. There were times when we sped them. I thought that was the difference in the game. We haven’t done that in a while in terms of getting after the ball. I think it’s that time of the year where we have to get up and go.”
