St. John’s Head Coach Mike Anderson
Opening Statement…
“Our guys fought to the very end. That being said, that’s probably the best that we’ve played in a while. I’m proud of our guys for playing against Shaka [Smart] and his really good sixth-ranked team. I thought we came out swinging tonight, hung around and gave ourselves a chance.“
On today’s game against Marquette …
“There’s no quit in this team. Our guys put up a good fight. We had some bad decisions with the basketball. I give them credit for disrupting our passing. We take pride in taking care of the basketball and that was a really defensive game. If we cut out one or two of those turnovers, its’s a different ball game. I thought offensively we attacked the glass and shared the ball. On the defensive end, that had to be the difference maker.”
