POSTGAME QUOTES: ST. JOHN’S WOMEN’S BASKETBALL AT STONY BROOK
St. John’s Women’s Basketball Head Coach Joe Tartamella spoke to the media after defeating Stony Brook, 73-42, at Stony Brook Arena
Head Coach Joe Tartamella
On the second-half performance…
“Our offensive energy was better. I actually thought we defended well in the first half. I told them if we kept defending the same way, we could fatigue them. We started the third [quarter] really well, turned [Stony Brook] over, got run outs and had a much better offensive flow.”
On the team effort…
“I was happy with everything they did in the second half. It was truly a group effort in terms of everybody contributing.”
On what he wants to see going forward …
“The same thing we saw today: continued concentration on our effort and our ability to work on ourselves more than anything else. We’ve had four games in nine or ten days, and it’s been a long stretch. We just have to get to the finish line and be ready.”
