POSTGAME QUOTES: ST. JOHN’S WOMEN’S BASKETBALL VS. MARQUETTE
St. John’s Women’s Basketball Head Coach Joe Tartamella spoke to the media following the Red Storm’s 56-55 loss to Marquette at Carnesecca Arena.
Head Coach Joe Tartamella
Opening statement…
“Obviously a disappointing loss for us. I thought we started the game with some pretty good energy. I thought we played with good energy for the most part, we just didn’t do enough at the end. It’s probably the first time I feel like, since the beginning of the year, where we just didn’t execute enough. [Marquette] did enough.”
On first-half execution…
“We did a really good job in the first half of altering shots and crunching the floor, and we just weren’t able to sustain it moving into the second half.”
On the end of the game…
“I felt like I should just let them play, and I was hopeful we’d get a broken play or an over-the-board finish, which unfortunately just didn’t happen.”
