As a Sophomore (2017)
Played and started in all 19 games for the Red Storm, tying for the team lead with 16 points… tallied a team-high six goals and dished out four assists… ranked second on the squad with 36 shots, 15 of which were on goal… three of his six goals were game winners… named to the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team… registered a pair of braces on the year, scoring a pair against UC Santa Barbara (Sept. 12) and in the BIG EAST Tournament opener against Creighton (Nov. 4)… found the back of the net in the Red Storm’s season-opening victory over Drexel (Aug. 25)… scored the game winner in a 2-0 win over Temple (Sept. 9)… made it three goals in two games with his brace against UC Santa Barbara (Sept. 12)… assisted on a goal against Xavier (Sept. 23)… recorded assists in back-to-back wins over Villanova (Oct. 25) and Georgetown (Oct. 28)… assisted on the Red Storm’s lone goal against Georgetown in the BIG EAST Semifinals (Nov. 8).

BIG EAST All-Freshman Team Selection… played and started in all 17 games as a rookie, the only player on the Red Storm to do so… registered 1,608 out of a possible 1,626 minutes on the season… finished third on the team with four goals… recorded three shots in his collegiate debut against Drexel (Aug. 26)… scored his first collegiate goal, a game-winner, against Saint Peter’s (Aug. 31)… made it two-straight games with a goal, finding the back of the net against No. 6/8 Syracuse (Sept. 4)… scored a goal for the third-consecutive contest, tallying a second-half goal in the team’s come-from-behind win at Princeton (Sept. 8)… recorded three shots against Holy Cross (Sept. 11)… played the full 110 minutes and recorded a shot at Marquette (Sept. 17)… registered two shots in the team’s BIG EAST opener against Seton Hall (Sept. 24)… fired off two shots in consecutive games against Xavier (Oct. 8) and Loyola (Oct. 11)… scored his fourth goal of the season in the Johnnies’ 2-1 win over No. 11/14 Butler (Oct. 15)… recorded two shots at Georgetown (Oct. 22).

Plays his club soccer for Vaughan SC… helped the Vaughan Azzurri win the 2015 U-18/U-19 Disney Soccer Showcase as well as the 2015 OYSL U-18 League title… on the national level, Johnston was one of 28 players from League1 Ontario invited by Canada Soccer to a U-20 identification camp.
