Alyssa Breunig joined the Red Storm Athletics Development team in August 2024.
Prior to her arrival in Queens, Breunig served as Associate Director of Development, Assistant Athletic Director at Quinnipiac University. She played a vital role in athletic fundraising efforts, helping raise a record-breaking $3.5 million in her first year with the Bobcats. The money raised also marked a 225 percent increase from the previous year.
Under Breunig’s leadership, the athletics department saw significant growth in major gifts, including 22 funds receiving over $10,000 in commitments. The university utilized the funds for a successful initiation of the Athletic Advisory Council, and the planning and fundraising of two athletics capital projects the Men’s and Women’s Hockey Locker Rooms and the Baseball Field Renovation.
Breunig spearheaded the athletic annual giving program, coordinating Quinnipiac’s giving day for athletics, which raised $945,000. Additionally, she helped build and develop the Blue & Gold Society, Quinnipiac’s first athletic annual giving society. Within the first six months of its existence, Breunig assisted in fundraising $176,000 within the first six months.
Prior to Quinnipiac, Breunig was at Fairfield University as an Assistant Athletic Director of Annual Giving & Events.
Breunig received her master’s degree from Quinnipiac University in 2024 in Interactive Media and Communications. In 2020, she earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Saint Michael’s College in Burlington, Vt., where she was a member of the women’s basketball team.
