Kymani Edwards joined the St. Johnís women's basketball staff as graduate assistant in September of 2025 after previously spending three seasons as a student manager while attending St. John's as an undergrad.
Edwards began working with the Red Storm women's basketball program in 2022, helping the team prepare for upcoming opponents by learning scouting reports and replicating opposing plays, sets and defensive schemes during practice. In his role as a team manager, he assisted the coaching staff with daily practice planning, setup and execution of drills. Edwards also traveled with the team for road contests, gaining experience in game preparation, team operations and in-game adjustments.
Outside of St. Johnís, Edwards gained basketball training experience at Medgar Evers College Preparatory School in Brooklyn, serving as an interim trainer for the boys' varsity basketball program during the 2023-24 season. In that role, he led individual and small-group training sessions focused on skill development, conditioning and performance improvement while designing basketball-specific workout plans.
A 2026 St. John's graduate, Edwards earned his degree in Sports Management and has also gained professional experience in customer service and education, developing skills in communication, leadership, teamwork and organization.
Edwards is a native of Brooklyn, N.Y.
