STOKLOSA , CHAVEZ GIVEN BIG EAST WEEKLY HONORS

Stoklosa (Newark, DE) posted consecutive shutouts as the Red Storm increased their lead in the BIG EAST. He recorded one save in a 1-0 overtime win over Boston College on Friday, and two saves in a 2-0 win over Providence on Sunday. Stoklosa now has five shutouts this season and a 0.52 goals against average. He has four shutouts in conference play, sporting a 0.29 goals against average. This is the second time Stoklosa has received the award this season. The first occurred the week of October 2nd after his return from his finger injury, posting a 0-0 double overtime shutout of Connecticut.
Chavez (Westchester, NY) earned the award for the third time this season, as he was also named defensive player of the week for the weeks of September 4th and September 18th. Chavez once again anchored the St. Johns defense, this time carrying the unit to a pair of shutout wins, 1-0 over Boston College, and 2-0 over Providence. Chavez leads a defense that has recorded eight shutouts this season and has allowed only nine goals all season, four in BIG EAST play.
