THOMPSON NAMED BIG EAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Thompson powered the Red Storm to a thrilling 63-62 victory over St. Josephs University in Philadelphia, Pa., last Wednesday. The 5-6 guard came off the bench to score a season- and game-high 27 points, including the game-winning jumper with :05 remaining to lift the Red Storm to the win. Thompson made 10-of-17 shots from the floor including five three-pointers. She also had three steals, two rebounds and two assists in 33 minutes of action. Thompson is second on the team and ranked 17th in the BIG EAST conference in scoring with a 13.2 ppg average.
The Red Storm are now 3-2 overall and will host Old Dominion at 7:30 in Alumni Hall on December 7. This is St. Johns first home appearance since its season opening win over St. Francis, N.Y. on November 17.
