QUEENS, N.Y. – The Red Storm hosted the seventh edition of "An Afternoon with St. John's Women's Basketball" at Rao's, one of the most iconic restaurants in New York City on Wednesday.
Proud supporters of the program joined Head Coach Joe Tartamella and St. John's University President Rev. Brian J. Shanley, O.P. for a sold-out event at the iconic Italian restaurant located in Harlem.
"Everything about this place is why the partnership with Rao's has been so incredible," said Coach Tartamella. "I look around at all the tables and see those that have helped our program throughout the years and continue to help us. It truly means a lot."
Overall, the event raised $90,000 with all proceeds going directly to the advancement of the women's basketball program.
The event began with Master of Ceremonies Dave Gildea welcoming attendees and before President Shanley, Coach Tartamella and St. John's players Brooke Moore and Sa'Mya Wyatt expressed their gratitude to all of the attendees for their support of the program and Rao's for graciously hosting the event.
