SJU Womens Basketball to Host 2001-02 Celebration October 28

Jamaica, N.Y. The St. Johns University womens basketball team will host its 2001-02 season-opening celebration on Sunday, October 28 at 1:00 pm in Alumni Hall.

The event will kick off with introductions of this years team members and coaching staff. Fans can then check out the new squad as they take part in a 20-minute Red-White scrimmage. There will be opportunities for fans to participate in various contests with a chance to win Red Storm prizes. An autograph session with the entire team will conclude the days festivities.

The celebration is free of charge and open to the public. Members of the media are also welcome.

The Red Storm begin the 2001-02 season, Monday, November 12 in an exhibition game versus the Basketball Travelers at Alumni Hall. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 pm. For more information on St. Johns womens basketball visit www.redstormsports.com.
