St. Johns to Host 2001 SJU Fall Classic This Weekend

Jamaica, N.Y. - This weekend, the Red Storm softball team will host the 2001 SJU Fall Classic Tournament on Saturday, September 29 at the St. Johns University softball field. The tournament will begin at 9:00 a.m. with St. Johns playing local rival Adelphi. The tournament will include teams from Fairfield, Adelphi, Fairleigh Dickinson, and St. Johns.
On Sunday, September 30, St. Johns will hold an Alumni Game at Noon, as former players come back to campus for a reunion. The game will be followed by a barbeque and tour of campus for the alumni.
St. Johns is coming off an appearance in the finals of last weekends Fall Tournament at UConn. The Red Storm beat host UConn in the semifinals to reach the championship game, but ended up falling short to LIU in that game.
For anyone who wishes to attend, our new softball facility is located on the corner of the Grand Central Service Rd. and 168th St. (directly behind the new residence halls). Parking is available in the parking garage located on Union Turnpike.
