The Red Storm were led by senior captain Kristy Mercein (East Meadow, N.Y.), who put together a career night. Mercein notched 22 kills in a career high 57 attempts. Mercein now has 752 career kills, placing her seventh on SJU's all-time list. Mercein also moved up on the career attempts list, where she now owns fourth place with 2,229.
Sarah McCrary (Walnut, Calif.) continued her strong season, recording 15 kills and 15 digs. Robyn Kuraski (Milliani, Hawaii) contributed 50 assists to the Red Storm victory.
Mischara Saunders (Norwalk, Calif.) notched five block assists and six kills, while Rosalyn Dang (Punahou, Hawaii) chipped in seven kills and 10 digs.
The Red Storm return to action tomorrow when they travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Panthers in a BIG EAST matchup at 2p.m.
