Volleyball Takes Five Set Spring Match Against Hofstra, 3-2

Red Storm wrap up the spring slate next weekend at Princeton
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's volleyball team held its lone spring match inside Carnesecca Arena on Saturday morning in a 3-2 decision over Hofstra.
The set scores were 25-17, 25-21, 25-21, 12-25 and 11-15.
Chole Bell had a strong outing against the Pride. The middle blocker led the Johnnies with a staggering 7.0 blocks to go along with six kills.
Sophomore transfer Lejla Hadziredzepovic led the squad with 10 kills, followed by Kendall White with eight and sophomore transfer Brooke Boyles collected six kills. Barbara Costa dos Santos contributed with four kills. Hadziredzepovic, Boyles and Bell all collected a service ace.
Freshman Teodora Stamenkovic made impact on both the offensive and defensive sides of the net, notching 4.5 blocks and a pair of kills. Also making an impact defensively was Rashanny Solano Smith. Martina Capponcelli quarterbacked the offense with 15 assists.
Head Coach Joanne Persico and her squad will wrap up the spring slate with a tri-match at Princeton next weekend.
