The Red Storm controlled play at the net the entire night with 51 kills and just 15 errors. Junior Sarah McCrary (Walnut, Calif./Long Beach City College) finished with 16 kills, a .364 hitting percentage and only four errors. Sophomore Rosalyn Dang (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou) had 12 kills, a .500 percentage and just two miscues. SJUs most convincing performance was in game two, when they totaled 21 kills and four errors for a .425 hitting percentage.
Sophomore Robyn Kurasaki (Milliani, Hawaii/Maryknoll) passed out 38 assists and junior Kristy Mercein (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) added a team-high 13 digs.
For Long Island University (1-3), junior Katy Scheel finished with 24 assists and 10 digs for her second straight double-double. Junior April Danzy contributed a team-high 13 digs and eight kills for the Blackbirds.
The Red Storm return to action tomorrow night at Hofstra University at 5 pm.
