SJUs Hertz Named to Jewish All-American Team

JAMAICA, N.Y. St. Johns University junior goaltender Guy Hertz (Ramat-Hasharon, Israel) was named to the Jewish Sports Review Mens College All-America Soccer Team. Hertz is one of the 13 Division I players to be selected to the team.
Hertz started all 23 games in goal for the Red Storm, leading them to the 2001 Mens College Cup Final Four, and contributing to the teams league record sixth BIG EAST Tournament Championship.
He compiled a 17-3-3 record, which ties him for third all-time at St. Johns for most wins in season. Hertz solid play ranks him among the leaders in all the prominent goalkeeping records at St. Johns. This season, Hertz posted 12 shutouts, setting a new single season record. His 0.59 goals against average places him in fourth, while his 15 goals allowed ranks 11th all-time.
