Notre Dame Upends SJU Womens Hoop, 66-31

Senior Rasheedah Brown (Newark, N.J.) returned to the St. Johns lineup tonight after missing the last three games due to the death of her mother, Kim Brown. R. Brown led the Red Storm offense with 10 points, including two threes. Freshman Mary Pat Statler (New Cumberland, W.Va.) also hit two shots from behind the arc tonight for six points. Statler recorded a team-high three assists and grabbed three rebounds. Junior Creasie Fowler (Milwaukee, Wis.) led the team in rebounding for the second consecutive game, pulling down nine. Junior Amanda Rawson (Palos Park, Ill.) had seven points, four rebounds and two steals for the Red Storm.
Junior Alicia Ratay led the Fighting Irish with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Katy Flecky also recorded a double-double for ND, notching 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Notre Dame (16-7, 10-2) was 0-15 from the three-point line and shot 39.3 percent from the field, but St. Johns could not take advantage. The Red Storm shot just 22.0 percent from the field, and a season-low 35.7 percent from the free throw line.
The Red Storm (3-21, 0-13) return to action on Saturday, Feb. 16 when they host Georgetown at Alumni Hall. Tipoff is slated for 7:30pm.
