Freshman Meghan Allman (San Diego, Calif.), who has started every game for the Red Storm so far this season, pitched two complete games today. Florida's Amanda Knowles was credited with the win in game one, and Amanda Moore pitched a complete game to win game two.
In game one, the Gators scored five runs in the first inning on only two hits. Four Florida batters were walked and one was hit by a pitch to reach base that inning.
A Jillian Sandoval (Orange, Calif.) double to left-center field scored the St. John's first run in the third. Later that inning, a sacrifice grounder to second base scored Jessica Shepherd to trim Florida's lead to 5-2.
Florida tacked two more runs onto their lead in the fourth inning to go up 7-2. The Gators took a 7-3 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning after St. John's scored one run in top frame of the inning.
In game two, the Gators jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the second inning. With two outs and runners on second and third base, Jenilee Garner singled on a full count to score both runs to give Florida a 2-0 advantage.
