Red Storm Swept By Notre Dame

Jarrah Myers broke the game open for Notre Dame in the top of the third with a three-run home run. Myers drove in Ciolli, who reached on a fielders choice, and Loman, who walked, to give the Fighting Irish the 4-0 lead.
Carrie Wisen earned the win for Notre Dame, allowing just two hits in four innings of work. Freshman Meghan Allman (San Diego, Calif.) allowed four runs on four hits with five walks and three strikeouts in six innings of work.
In the second game, Notre Dame scored four in the top of the first on two hits, two walks, a wild pitch and a passed ball.
Two of the Red Storms three hits in the game came in the bottom of the seventh inning. Senior Kelly Houghton (Millsboro, Del.) and senior Amy Crook (Bellevue, Ill.) posted back to back singles to centerfield to get the inning started. The Red Storm would leave two stranded to end the game.
Allman gave up four runs on five hits and five walks while striking out two in five innings. Junior Jessica Cameron (Girard, Ohio) came in on relief of Allman and allowed four runs on five hits with one walk and one strikeout in two innings of work. For Notre Dame, Stenglein earned the win allowing just one hit while striking out nine in six innings.
The Red Storm return to action tomorrow at 11 am when they host the University of Pittsburgh.
