St. John's Women's Swimming Defeats Wagner, 115-90

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - The St. John's women's swimming team defeated local rival Wagner this evening, 115-90, in a meet held on the Wagner Campus in Staten Island, N.Y. The Red Storm improves to 1-2 on the season.
Leading the way for the Red Storm was a trio of swimmers that broke pool records in their respective events. Sophomore Christine Myers (Wantagh, N.Y.) broke the pool the record, finishing first in the 200 fly with a time of 2:12.43. Graduate student Laura Nuudi (Tallin, Estonia) broke the pool record in the 200 back with a first place finish in the 200 back, posting a time of 2:10.05. Senior Elizabeth Malinowski (Singerlande, N.Y.) finished first in the 500 and 100 free with times of 5:13.70 and 10:32.98, respectively. Her time in the 1000 gave the Red Storm their third pool record on the evening.
Also posting a top finishes for the Red Storm was Annette Melissa Hoye (Elverum, Norway), who finished first in the 200 breast with a time of 2:30.30.
The Red Storm women's swimming team returns to action on November 17 when they host Iona at Alumni Hall. First event is scheduled for 4 p.m.
