Svoboda Rallies for Sixth Individual Title of the Year

Port St. Lucie, Fla.St. Johns senior golfer Andrew Svoboda (Stamford, Conn.) rallied from a two-shot deficit to share individual medalist honors at the Treasure Coast Classic, hosted by St. Johns at the PGA C.C. in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Svoboda carded a final round one-under par 71 to finish the event at two-under 142. The victory is his sixth individual title in eight events this year, shooting 14 of 21 rounds at even-or-under par.
The Red Storm struggled as a team throughout the final round and finished 14th overall, carding a two round score of 644.
Sophomore Ian Middleton (British Columbia, Canada) finished tied for 71st, while seniors John DeForest (Cottekill, N.Y.) and Kyle Sleasman (Loudonville, N.Y) finished tied for 89th. Freshman Tom Travalja (Oradell, N.J.) withdrew from the event due to injury.
The St. Johns mens golf team returns to action on March 24-25, when they travel to Williamsburg, Va. to compete in the William & Mary Invitational.
