Softball Loses To San Diego State University 8-0

San Diego, Calif. The St. Johns softball team traveled to San Diego State University where they dropped an 8-0 decision to the Aztecs. The loss brings their overall record to 6-9.

The offense of SDSU proved to be more then the Red Storm could handle as the Aztecs pounded out three runs in the bottom of the first, two in the third and three in the sixth to hand St. Johns their ninth loss of the season. Senior Courtney Fitzgerald (Bellerose, N.Y.) took the loss for St. Johns going 5 2/3 innings, giving up eight runs on nine hits.

The St. Johns softball team returns to action on Friday, March 7, when they travel to Fresno State, where they will compete in the Fresno State Classic Tournament.
