Storm Tamed By Rutgers, 78-70

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) - Freshman Quincy Douby hit four straight 3-pointers during the game's key run, leading Rutgers to a 78-70 victory over St. John's Saturday.
In winning for the first time in three games, Rutgers (10-6) snapped an eight-game losing streak to St. John's (4-12) and kept the Red Storm as the lone Big East team without a conference win.
St. John's got as close as 69-64 with 1:10 remaining but Rutgers freshman Marquis Webb went 8-for-8 from the foul line in the final 51.8 seconds to keep the Red Storm from drawing any closer.
Ricky Shields had 19 points and was 4-for-9 from behind the arc. Herve Lamizana added 14 points for Rutgers, while Webb had 10 points.
Kyle Cuffe led St. John's with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Daryll Hill had 15 points, while Grady Reynolds added 14 and Elijah Ingram had 10 points.
