Softball Sweeps Doubleheader at Marist

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - The St. John's softball team improved to 15-15 overall, after sweeping a double header against Marist (8-0, 9-1) this afternoon in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
The Red Storm offense, which combined for 17 runs, was led by Jo Sherlock (San Diego, Calif.) who went 7-for-8 from the plate in the two games.
In game one, three St. John's homeruns, supplied by Sherlock, Allina Sainz (San Diego, Calif.) and Jillian Sandoval (Orange, Calif.), led the Red Storm to an 8-0 win. Freshman Brittany Crouch (Irvine, Calif.) recorded the shutout, allowing no runs and striking out 10 in five innings.
St. John's took game two 9-1, led by 4-for-4 offensive performances from Sherlock and Megan Oliver (Endicott, N.Y.). Senior Courtney Fitzgerald (Bellerose, N.Y.) allowed just one run in four innings work.
