Men's Golf Places Fifth at Mission Inn Classic

Queens, N.Y. - St. John's men's golf team worked its way to a fifth place tie with Radford University at the Mission Inn Classic this past weekend, in Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla. The Red Storm finished with a 14-over par 866.
Sophomore Keegan Bradley recorded another top-five finish, shooting three under par in the second round and one under par in the third. Locked in a three way tie for fifth, Bradley completed the weekend two under par 211.
Coming in one-under par 212, freshman Kevin Velardo also had a solid outing. Posting a birdie in the first round, Velardo shot even on the par 71 course in both the second and third rounds.
Senior Brian McArdle finished at eight over for the weekend and sophomore George Zolotas careded a 10 over par. Freshman Casey Calmi recorded 236 strokes.
19 teams competed in the Mission Inn Classic, with host school Winthrop University tying for 14th.
The Red Storm will host the Tillinghast on Oct. 17-18 at the Fenway Golf Course in Scarsdale, N.Y.
